INCIDENT BRIEF On 25 SEP 08 at 1500, the M/T PINK SANDS was transiting up-bound in the Lower Mississippi River. The crew was attempting to moored the vessel at the Exxon Terminal Dock #1, when the vessel sustained a reduction of propulsion. The bridge shifted engine control to the engine room and moored the vessel without any further incidents. No damage, no pollution and no injuries resulted. Chief Engineer and the vessel's class, BV, confirmed the timer relay was faulty and was not activated when the 'Astern' order was giving during the mooring operations. Crew replaced the timer relay, conducted ahead and astern test to satisfaction of class.
