The 1999 built 104,884 dwt tanker Aral Sea dropped anchor at Kaval Point on the 12th of July due to rudder problems after drifting to the shore in the Bosporus Strait. After completing an intial inspection, the strait authority instructed the vessel to drop anchor in the Kilyos outer anchorage area. Slight cracks were reported to the bow area. She arrived at Batumi on the 22nd of July.
