Disabled LNG tanker is taken under tow February 12, 2008. The Coast Guard is assisting a tanker that is carrying liquefied natural gas and is adrift about 45 miles off Cape Cod. Officials say the 933-foot Catalunya Spirit and its crew of 29 is in no immediate danger. It lost propulsion and became disabled about 3 a.m. while carrying its cargo from Trinidad and Tobago to Boston. A Coast Guard cutter is with the tanker, along with two tugs contracted by the tanker's owners, Teekay LNG Partners. Technical specialists and a Coast Guard inspector are also on the tanker. The company is sending two more tugs to the scene. The Coast Guard says the vessel is expected to be towed to a location still being determined.
