BOW FAVOUR (Norway ISR, 23190gt, Odfjell) had main engine breakdown, with major damage caused to the crankshaft where three out of seven cylinders in which the crankshaft webs are twisted on the pin, causing off-align crankwebs/crankpins. Cause of the damage is very likely to be main engine overspeed. The vessel was towed towards Dubai and cargo to be transhipped. 21-Feb-2007.

The 2001 built 37,438 dwt chemical tanker Bow Favour bound laden for South Africa went adrift outside the Seychelles after a main engine breakdown on 4 February. The vessel was taken under tow toward Dubai where further inspections and repairs will be carried out.
