An estiamted 1000 to 200O gallons of crude oil was spilled into the Pacific by the 1992 built, 142,031 dwt Front Sunda ownbed by Frontline. The incident occured as a location 1.5 miles off Barbers Point. The incident was caused by the hose line that was employed to discharge oil from the tanker becoming disconnected. Frontline has agreed to assit the USCG with its investigations into the incident.

Barbers Point is at the SW corner of Oahu. The slick was pushed to the the SW away from the island.

Not clear whether this was a terminal or ship problem. Ship had cargo tank explosion a month later. See 20060619_001.
