On the evening of 19 Feb 04, the 734 ft M/V Bright State allided with the 792 ft Marshall Island M/T Genmar Alexandra while transiting upbound near MM125 of the Lower Mississippi River. The Genmar Alexandra was moored up starboard side to Dock No 4 at the Valero refinery in Norco LA, discharging crude oil whenit was struck on its aft port side of the hull along the port quarter by the starboard bow of the Bright State casuing a 22000 gallon discharge of oil.

Other sources make it clear the Alexandra was discharging crude and this was fuel spill. Obviously, a bunker tank was holed.
