2001 August Santa Cruz I Steering gear problems South Atlantic The tanker laden with about 95,000 m3 crude oil sustained rudder problems on a voyage from Argentina to Peru. Chilean salvors, Ultragas, rendered services under LOF 2000 and brought the casualty to Comodoro Rivadavia on 5 September.

Had rudder problems off Cape of Good Hope 16 Aug 2001. LOF signed. Escorted to Commodoro Rivadavia for lightering. Still in port 10 Sep. Subsequently arrived Rio de Janeiro 29 Sep for dry-dock repairs. Still repairing 23 Oct. Sailed Bahia Blanca 22 Nov.
