For the second time this week, marine life in the Marine National Park nead Vadinar has been threatened, this time by an oil slick, believed to be 300m x 15m.

IOC and Kandla Port Trust(KPT) vessels were rushed to the spot. KPT says it was not an oil spill, and not from one of the 2 SBM;s.

The culprit is believed to be an oil tanker which had recently visited the IOC terminal. Superintendent of Police said the leak was spotted 2 miles off the anchorage when an oil tanker Eliki from Basra was just off-loading its cargo in the submersible mooring at Vadinar.
