At 0913, a crew member of the S/R North Slope
observed a light sheen within the boom
as the tanker was being de-boomed and made ready for departure.
Inspection of the vessel by divers revealed a hairline fracture
8 to 10 inches in length at the turn of the bilge
of the No 5 starboard cargo tank.
The USCG has ordered the tank emptied to stop the release of the oil.
Estimated spill volume is less than one gallon.
