Bulk carrier Osool sinks. The 19,427 dwt vessel built in 1974 sank off the coast of Goa, India on July 21st. All the Ukrainian crew were rescued. The vessel was en route to Haldia from Jebel Ali with a steel cargo. Initial reports suggest that there was water ingress in No.1 hold. Another vessel, the World Peace, a general cargo ship, is now presumed to have sunk off India. All the crew of the 14,711 dwt vessel built in 1982 en route to Rotterdam from Chennai were picked up by a passing chemical tanker. The ship had been abandoned after taking water in the No.4 hold which contained chrome ore.
