All 1440 passengers and crew of the Langkapuri Star-Acquarius
have arrived safely back in Singapore
following a collision last night.
Two crew members and two passengers were treated
for minor injuries.
The cruise vessel collided with an oil tanker
about 2 mi South of Pulau Sebarok.
The incident happened at about 1030 pm,
ah hour after the Star Acquarius departed from the Singapore Cruise Centre
and was heading west along the Singapore Strait.
Both vessels were damaged during the incident.
The tanker, MT Stresa, is said to have spilled about 30 tonnes
of light crude oil into the sea.
All 40 crew members on the tanker are reported to be safe.
Authorities have begun investigations into the incident.
