19951201. Bulker Mount Olympus, 33186 gt, built 1969, abandoned by her crew after a 17 m long crack developed in her deck. The ship was sailing in ballast in mid-Atlantic from Ravenna to Norfolk.

We may have the wrong ship. Big discrepancy in date of build. If the 1978 date is correct, the IMO is probably 7806805 in which case she survived and was later known as the Cape Athos.

30 man crew was rescued by helicopter from Canadian naval vessel Calgary, which hovered for a total of four hours to do the job. The weather could not have been that bad.
