USCG says report came in at 1930. Ship was hard aground next to Sandy Hook Channel, port side extending into channel. 10 kt winds, 3ft Seas. Ship had 112KB jet and 135KB No 2 fuel oil on board. Found 2 inch hole in 6C (diesel), leaking at 100 B/hr.

This is one of the very few reports that attempts to estimate leakage rate.

But we have no info on why the ship ran aground in good weather,

MSIS has this spill at 16,000 gal. Guessing bad coding. But ERC agrees?
