This is the official Australian investigation. It concludes the ship was legally loaded, but in a alternative hold fashion. The Australians interviewed thought the ship was in decent condition.

The ship's distress signal is quoted as saying "water coming in the front".

Sank in rough seas 450 mi south of Reunion in lat 27.41S, 54.11E. Reported to have been heading for repair of crack in No 1 hold.

No 1 hold flooded and foundered.

Of the 27 crew, 2 survived. But apparently the Australians did not attempt to interview the survivors. Although the Australians do say, "reported as having gone down in 10 minutes, preventing the launching of the lifeboats" which must have come from the survivors, as probably does the comments about the No 1 hold. Have been unable to locate the Greek report, if there was one.
