Ballast tanks are where we find the most corrosion.
Embiricos says the damage was focussed on the wing ballast tank,
but the size of the hole became so large (20x25m),
that a neighboring cargo tank was breached,
both above and below the waterline, emptying the whole tank.
Embiricos believes the ballast tank was badly corroded.
While CTX has not been above to locate any pictures
and the Class surveys and flag state (Cyprus) investigation are not
made public, he is almost certainly correct.
Once source indicates rest of cargo was lightered.
Where? To which ship?
Was the ship then scrapped?
