At about 0100 hours on 1979-02-15, while lying in an empty condition at Skikda, the seven year old Dutch motor oil/chemical tanker Massluis broke from her moorings during the extreme severity of a Force 10 storm, stuck a breakwater and sank, fully submerged in 30 meters of water. Such was the violence of the impact that she broke into three sections, the midsection being completely demolished. A total of 27 of the 29 persons on board lost their lives.

This deadly casualty is just about a complete mystery. If ship was on berth and no fire, how could we lose 28 tanker men? Possible this is an anchor dragging. Port Plans has masters reporting anchor dragging not uncommon. Need a lot more info, including which berth.
