See also Sandandaj on the same date. The C-601 was a derivative of the Silkworm, CTX is assuming the main sensor was radar.

The C-601 has a 513 kg warhead compared to the 165 kg Exocet. When an Exocet hit a VLCC Engine room, usually the only people killed, were those in the ER. The counter was to run the ER un-manned. With the C-601, it appears that this tactic was no longer effective. CTX thinks the C-601 was radar guided. It appears this hit was aft, but resulted in far more damage than normally produced by the Exocet.
