While on a Gulf shuttle run from Larak to Kharg,
struck on her port side about 80 miles south of Kharg
in lat 28.18N, long 50.58E on April 24, 1987.
The missile entered the engine room
casuing severe damage, but no injuries were reported.
After being towed back to Larak,
the Fuji Orient was abandoned by her owners
to her Iranian insurers, Bimeh,
who settled the vessel as a war CTL,
suitable only for scrapping.
