The 233,011 dwt Cyprus steam tanker Lady A was on a northbound Gulf shuttle run from Larak to Kharg when she was struck by an Iraqi Exocet missile about 60 mi south of Kharg Island on January 30, 1987. The missile hit the vessel just above her propeller between the port ballast water tank and a bunker tank. The engien room and two accommodation decks were damaged by the explosion, which caused a small fire, but therer were no casualties. Immobilized, the Lady A had to be towed back to Larak. CTL and scrapped.
