250 kg bombs at Larak. 1986-11-25. Their bombs hit five tankers: the Antartica, Dynasty, Shining Star, Tabriz, Tenacity. Fires in the Antartica wrecked the vessel. The others were repaired.

The 218,035 dwt Cyprus Ore/Oil steamship Antartica was berthed off Hormuz Terminal, Larak Island, being used as a storage vessel, when she was attacked by Iraqi jets on November 25, 1986, during a raid onthe terminal and the vessels anchored in the vicinity. Damaged by exploding missiles and fire, the Antartica was sold to Chinese shipbreaker for scrap.

LMIU calls this ship Luna. which was probably the name she was scrapped under. The Navias account makes it clear that bombs not missiles were use, in part to get the range to Larak. Ore/oilers with their wide double sides are better against Exocets (assuming hit in cargo area), but their weak hatch covers may be worse against bombs.
