On March 20, 1986, she was again attacekd by Iraqi warplanes, this time while anchored in a ballast condition off Kharg Is., waiting to load her next consignement of crude oil. The exploding Exocet caused a massive fire that lasted for three days before being extinguished. Seriously damaged, the Atlanticos was towed to Dubai. CTL.

Since she was in ballast, assuming BFO fire, which indicates she was hit aft. Why would a ship anchor near Kharg????
