Four Indian cremen were killed and two injured as a result of an Iranian gunship missile striking the Cyprus motor tanker Avocet in the accommodation area on February 6, 1986, about 50 mi E of the northern tip of Qatar in lat 26.00N, long 52.30E. With a fierce fire breaking out, the surviving 32 crew members abandoned their vessel, which had been on a ballast voyage from Karachi to Kuwait. CTL
