The Panamanian bulk carrier Pab was on a voyage from Vitoria, Brazil to Chittagong, loaded with 11,000 tons of pig iron, and also some asbestos sheets that had been loaded at Maputo for discharge at Bombay, when she sank off Amini Island, Laccadives, in lat 11.07.42M, long 72.44.24E on August 19, 1985 after developing leakage in heavy weather. The crew was rescued without loss and taken to Cochin.
