The 153,274 dwt Turkish motor tanker Buyuk Hun
was on a ballast passage from Tutunciftlik to Kharg Island
when she was struck by two Exocet missiles
fired by an Iraqi Super Etendard
while about 36 miles south of Kharg Is
in lat 28.36N, long 50.42E at about 1030 am
on June 3, 1984.
Three of her crew died and another two were injured
when the missiles slammed into her engine room
and accommodations, causing a massive fire.
