May 7, Exocet from fixed wing aircraft, 1 killed, CTL. Super Etendards fired two Exocets into Saudi tanker Al Ahood, when she was 70 miles south opf Kharg Island. reducing her to a CTL.

After loading a carog of crude oil at Kharg Island, the 177,710 dwt Saudi Arabian motor tanker was struck by as Iraqi Exocet missile that had been fired by a war plane about 80 mi SE of Kharg Is in lat 28.07N, long 51.06E on May 7, 1984. The missile struck the accommodation area close to the engien room, causing a massive explosion and fire. One man died whilethe remaining crew members aall safely abandoned their blazing ship.

When examined it was ascertained that the missile had passed through her settling tanks and entered the engien room. CTL
