The Panamanian motor tanker Gogo Runner
was on a voyage from Rio Grande brazil to Bombay,
loaded with 20,000 tons of vegetable oil,
when she sank in Mozambique Channel
in lat 11.43S, 40.58E on June 25, 1982,
two days after springing a leak in her engine room.
The entire crew was safely picked up
by the Russian motor vessel Vladimir Ilich
which landed them in Dar-es-Salaam.
