The South Korean steam ore carrier Jin Yang No 11
was on a voyage for Oita to Bandar khomeini
loaded with a cargo fo 15,000 tons of steel products,
when she sank about 200 miles off the west coast of India
in lat 15.08N, long 71.31E on July 9, 1980,
after taking in water through large cracks in her No 2 hold.
Her entire 32 man crew was safely picked up
by her sister ship, the motor vessel Jin Yang 15,
which landed them at Paradip.
