When in ballast condition, the Spanish steam tanker Talavera was abandoned by her crew when east of Guadaloupe in lat 16.00N, long 55.55W on October 20, 1979, after fire and three explosions in her cargo tanks. All but one were safely picked up from their lifeboats by the steam tanker World Achievement, but five had suffered injury, two seriously. When the fire had been extinguished, the badly damaged Talavera was towed into Barbados by the tug Baltic five days later, where it was ascertained that the deck over No 9, 10, 11 and 12 centre tanks had been lifted and folded on to the starboard side by the force of the explosions.

Sounds like non-inerted tank cleaning 10 years after Mactra, Marpessa, and Kong Haakon. But we need confirmation.
