The Greek motor tanker Aegis Leader was on a ballast pasage
from Singapore to Bandar Mashar,
when she ran aground off Sumatra in lat 06.03.40N, 95.06.40E
on March 21, 1978.
She was refloated seven days later,
then towed back to Singapore,
where an inspection revealed that extensive damage had been sustained.
After being declared a CTL, she was sold to Taiwanese shipbreakers
and scrapped at Kaohsiung inAugust.
