Having loaded 30,788 long tons of Libyan crude oil, which was approximately half of her full load capacity, the Liberian motor tanker Southern Sun was driven aground during very heavy weather off the the oil terminal at Zuetina on November 23, 1976. She had been scheduled to proceed to La Skhirra Tunis in order to complete loading for Marcus Hook when the incident occurred.

Ship was a CTL. Another grounding at a North African port. Hooke makes no mention of a spill. ETC claims a 7330 bbl bunker spill. Probably unsupported, but CTX put it in anyway. This casualty is not in Rempec.
