The Liberian turbo-electric bulk carrier Pacrover was on a voyage from Roberts Bank, BC to Yokohama with a cargo of 20,000 tons of coal when she was abandoned in a sinking condition by her 30 South Korean crew members during stormy 50 ft seas in the North Pacific about 800 miles south of Kodiak, Alaska, in lat 44.50N, long 152.00W on December 24, 1972. An air and sea search was conducted but all that was found were four overturned lifeboats, an oil slick, and debris.
